About me…

Hello, and welcome to my first blog post. My name is Kirsty, I am 31 years old. I was born and raised in England, and now I am living in Portugal. I spend my free time between various projects, challenging my creativity, this ranges from my Bullet Journal to knitting! I will be sharing my creative process in blog posts and also through my Instagram page. If you have any questions or suggestions of new projects, please feel free to contact me!

A hard days work

So today I put my hands to a different form of creation, gardening! I’m far more used to creating on paper or canvas and my hand strength shows that. After a long day of attacking every weed in our new garden my hands are slightly swollen and also blistered. But now, sipping my coffee and looking at what will soon become the home for our vegetable beds, I feel a great sense of pride. Gone is the three foot high weed grass, replaced by a calm sea of green flooring. Over the weekend we will turn the land and remove the weeds to our newly made compost pile. I’m still learning in this process and even though the work is hard and demanding, my hands will heal, and from their pain will sprout our future garden. Sometimes creating can be a long tough road, but every project is a fresh canvas to make our marks on. Today my canvas was weeds, my paints were my hands, and my finished art is a deep sense of satisfaction. Bring on more new projects, I am ready.

Two thousand and nineteen

So it’s March, in fact one week into March. It’s not the beginning of the new year, it’s not the beginning of the month, it’s not even the beginning of the week, but it is a beginning, for me at least. With my last Bujo being full, I’m starting into my new one. Different shape, different size, and a different feel. This is to be the tool that is used to create a new beginning in my life, when I stop thinking about doing things and actually start doing them!

First things first, I’ve created an Instagram page to share my creations (instagram.com/kreatewithkirsty). Secondly I’m here! For years a blog has been something that’s always been done by others, something I wouldn’t be able to do as well as everyone else. Well, this is the time, I stop that negative thinking and pour myself into finding out what I am capable of!
